A pair of hand-finished shoes, built to the wearer and to the wearer's practice. The premise is straightforward: the things a person walks in carry weight, and a piece of footwear made with intent carries different weight than a piece made anonymously.
Approach
A commission begins with a conversation about the wearer's practice and the role the shoes should play within it. Symbolic elements — a working sigil on the insole, a private inscription beneath the heel, a hand-painted figure on the upper — are placed where the wearer wants them placed, including in positions only the wearer will ever see.
Construction follows the agreed brief. Materials, sole construction, and finish are confirmed before work begins.
Use
The shoes are intended to be worn. Care notes and a record of the symbolic placements accompany delivery.
